POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
Before participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
FORMAT:
- All players will participate in a 36-hole stroke-play qualifier.
- Qualifiers will advance to the 125th U.S. Open Championship will take place June 12 - 15, 2025, at Oakmont CC in Oakmont, PA.
- The final number of qualifying spots at each site will be available from the Committee on the day of play.
- In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place or an alternate’s position, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of regular play.
STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS:
- Starting times and pairings will be emailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the qualifier.
- Upon arrival, all players must register with SCGA/USGA staff onsite. The registration table will be located near the golf shop.
- Round 1 starting times: 7 a.m. – 9:10 a.m., utilizing a #1 and #10 tee start.
- Round 2 starting times: 12:30 p.m. – 2:40 p.m., utilizing a #1 and #10 tee start.
- Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.
TEES & YARDAGE:
- Play will be from the USGA tee markers.
- Hole-by-hole yardages may be found on the Event Portal.
- Course Rating: 75.6 / Slope: 139 / 7,136 yards / Par 71.
- StrackaLine Booklet: The SCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the opportunity to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Green booklets at a discounted price. Please click here to purchase your StrackaLine Booklet. All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
- We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on the property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.
- The SCGA has reserved tee times that each participant can book through the SCGA’s Practice Round Portal beginning on Sunday, May 25 at 8 a.m. PST.
- Practice Round Fee: $50 to walk, $75 to ride. Payable in person before your practice round inside the Golf Shop.
- Participants will be emailed the practice round portal link from the SCGA. Please do not contact the golf shop to arrange a practice round tee time.
- Practice Round Dates Include:
- Tuesday, May 27: 3 – 3:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 28: 3 – 3:30 p.m.
- Thursday, May 29: 3 – 3:30 p.m.
- Friday, May 30: 3 – 3:30 p.m.
- Saturday, May 31: 3 – 3:30 p.m.
- Sunday, June 1: 1 – 4 p.m.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available at 6 a.m. and also between the 1st and 2nd rounds. Range balls will be provided compliments of Valencia CC.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- Breakfast items will be available at the snack bar, located at the clubhouse.
- Lunch, for players and caddies, will be available for purchase between rounds inside the clubhouse at the Grill.
- Valencia CC accepts credit cards or cash for all purchases at the snack bar and in the golf shop.
PARKING:
- Players, caddies, and spectators are encouraged to arrive in the same vehicle to best utilize available parking. If the parking lot becomes full, ample street parking is available.
DRESS CODE & LOCKER ROOM:
- Appropriate golf attire must be worn. Please remove hats inside the clubhouse and in the dining areas.
- Players will have access to the locker room from 6 a.m. until the conclusion of play.
GOLF CARTS & PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- During a round, a player and/or caddie must not ride on any form of motorized transportation except as authorized or later approved by the Committee. Model Local Rule G-6.
- Players seeking to use a golf cart due to a medical or ADA-related reason must contact the USGA in advance of the qualifier.
- Pull or push carts (including motorized pull or push carts) are allowed.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf, as approved by the USGA and The R&A Rules Limited, govern play.
- Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the USGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players that will be emailed to players the day prior to the qualifier and distributed on-site.
- Distance-Measure Devices: Permitted during qualifying rounds but not at the championship proper.
- Groove and Punch Mark Specifications: Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect, except as modified by the applicable championship Entry Application. Model Local Rule G-2.

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie.
- Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.
- Please see site-specific qualifying information for any restrictions on caddies and/or spectators.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any club-specific policies.
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw before the start of the qualifier, a player must contact both the:
- SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org, AND
- USGA Championship Administration Department at champs@usga.org.
SPECTATOR INFORMATION
LIVE SCORING:
- Live scoring will be available throughout the qualifier at scga.org and usopen.com.
PARKING:
- Players, caddies, and spectators are encouraged to arrive in the same vehicle to best utilize available parking. If the parking lot becomes full, ample street parking is available.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- Food & Beverage will be available for purchase outside of the clubhouse at the snack bar.
- Valencia CC accepts credit cards or cash for all purchases at the snack bar and in the golf shop.
ON THE COURSE:
- This is a walking-only event for players, caddies, and spectators.
- Spectators should position themselves in an unobtrusive location, keeping in mind the players in the groups ahead and behind.
- Cell phones should be turned off or set to silent mode while on the property.
DRESS CODE & RESTROOMS:
- Appropriate golf attire must be worn.
- Restrooms are available at the clubhouse and near #4 Putting Green and #15 Putting Green.
